From Day 1 We Aimed to Make Learning Fun For Kids

James E. Sampson Memorial SDA School is named in honor of former student James E. Sampson. The school began at the Macedonia SDA Church on Delaware Ave. The school did not have an adequate area in which to play, so he and his classmates were taken on a field trip to an area off Orange Avenue in Fort Pierce to play. The grounds were unprotected and without surrounding fences. During a ball game, 8 year old James ran out to retrieve a ball and was suddenly and tragically ran over by a passing automobile. James’ family and friends in great sorrow, but with great vision and selflessness, organized a community effort to make sure that what happened to James would not happen to another young person. This effort resulted in the purchase of almost nine acres that eventually became the beautiful campus of the James E. Sampson Memorial Seventh Day Adventist School.
